As I continue my journey toward retirement after 24 years in the Navy Reserve this summer, I just wanted to drop a quick expression of thanks for the support received from RealStreet.
Even as a Reserve Officer with many years of active-duty service and mobilizations, I would recommend finding a support network. There’s countless people and organizations that WANT to improve outcomes for military retirees.
I recently completed a multi-day resume review session with Katy Cook at RealStreet. Katy took my existing resume and helped me to refine it into a truly professional document ready to propel me forward into a new career. Katy was amazingly gracious with her time in asking me questions, offering expert marketing and recruitment advice, and helping me to craft my resume into something I’m proud to use and maintain.
If you’re in the Architecture/Engineering/Construction industry, do your career a huge favor by looking into the services they offer, especially if you’re a transitioning military member.

I have worked with RealStreet for over 20 years! My first deployment was following Hurricane Charley in Florida back in 2004, when I received a call from Kevin McGovern to consider supporting FEMA recovery efforts. Since then I have supported FEMA Public Assistance and Individual Assistance across a variety of states in roles that aid Long Term Recovery Planning and Direct Housing. Currently, I am supporting the Direct Housing mission in Florida following Hurricane Helene. I’ve always appreciated the personal attention and genuine care shown by everyone at RealStreet.

The remarkable professionals at RealStreet has been a true gift for me and my family. I like so many others were terminated due to COVID slowing my prior company down and they could no longer support my position. I was in a challenging situation being the sole provider for my Mother, my children and myself. Fortunately, I was chosen along with several others to interview for one of their Clients. The expertise that Paige Gemmill portraited to make me fill comfortable and confident helped me nail my interview. When I was awarded the position for their Client I was jumping for joy; not only did I land the job but the benefits (401K match, Insurance, Vacation, Holiday Pay) through RealStreet is the icing on the cake. I cannot say enough about Michelle Talbert assisting me through the process of collecting the forms and signing up for the benefits for RealStreet. I have worked for several Consulting firms in my career and by far this one is the best.

I am extremely pleased with the way your recruiter, Paige, assisted me during the tedious process of preparing for a disaster deployment. Her ongoing check-ins, personal attention and professional approach are what first attracted me to RealStreet.

I’ve worked with a tiny company to a large and now back to a smaller, well-groomed firm with RealStreet. I’m continuously contracted and I know that I’m with a company that is concerned about my well-being and employment. I can say with all honesty that RealStreet is the real deal.

It was my distinct pleasure working for RealStreet, aka KJMK, on separate FEMA disaster recovery assignments and long-term recovery planning assignments between October 2004 and May 2006 in the aftermath of Hurricanes Ivan, Katrina, Francis and Wilma. I found working with these professionals enjoyable as well as self-fulfilling and rewarding. After a 9-year stint as the long-range planner for the city of Dothan, AL. I am retiring from the city, badged by the DHS, and back on the list for future FEMA deployments. I would not consider working for any other firm on any future FEMA disaster recovery deployment should the opportunity arise to do so.

RealStreet has provided me with a great, months-long job that repeats annually. Support from RealStreet staffers is immediate and always there, and the payment end is flawlessly reliable.

The RealStreet folks are always helpful. They were instrumental in landing me a rewarding FEMA assignment in Southern California.

Working for RealStreet was the best experience of my life. The support I receive from owners was amazing. They really treated you like family.

A career in construction administration and management can be (and for me has been) one of constant transition. It’s rather common that employment with a given company starts and finishes with each successive project; you’re a new hire as it’s just getting “out of the ground,” then finished and looking for a new project (and employer) at the ribbon-cutting. That trend has given me experiences, both good and bad, with many companies in this industry; small companies with friendly, personable cultures, to huge corporations with all the advantages and disadvantages of a big-business environment. RealStreet seems to strike a great balance between the two. It’s small enough to make me feel like I am known and appreciated, but not too small that I might be concerned about a lack of support or expertise. It’s big enough to assert its influence in the National Capitol region, but not too big to make me feel like I’m just part of some corporate bureaucratic machine.
