Join associations.
Industry trade associations are an essential part of every life-long learner’s plan. Seek out local and national associations in your field. Cross train.
Take the time to truly understand the roles that others in your organization plan. Seek out cross-training opportunities offered within your organization. Not to mention that getting cross trained can open a new world of advancement opportunities!

Go back to school.
Last but not least, consider going back to school to take new classes or earn new certifications. If you’re in a quickly advancing field, this may be a requirement to advance.
