Supporting FEMA’s Ongoing Disaster Recovery Efforts
RealStreet has been supporting FEMA for two decades. Currently, we support both Public Assistance (PA) and Individual Assistance (IA) programs. Recently, a large focus has been on Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton disaster recovery efforts. RealStreet has deployed housing planners to Florida and South Carolina. These individuals help provide direct temporary housing, including travel trailers and larger manufactured housing units, to help survivors get a safe roof over their heads. Administrative support has been deployed to Florida to help with data input. We have also deployed cost specialists to North Carolina and South Carolina. These individuals are responsible for tasks such as performing preliminary damage assessments, preparing project worksheets, analyzing claims and developing cost estimates.
This is only a fraction of the support RealStreet is providing to FEMA, and it is early in the recovery process for these declared disasters. A great deal of additional help will be needed down the road. In the meantime, we are continuing to add qualified professionals to our roster to prepare for future needs. We’re seeking a wide array of individuals to join our team, and not just those with an architecture, engineering or construction background. We also need biologists, communication specialists, computer specialists, cost estimating format specialists, data analysts, hydrologists, insurance specialists, management analysts, supply chain analysts, technical writers as well as a variety of other roles.
Do you know someone that’s looking for a fulfilling job? Encourage them to apply to be a part of RealStreet’s team. While every assignment poses its own unique challenges, the work being performed is impactful and extremely fulfilling.
